I’m a composer working out of Lincoln, Nebraska. I was born in Ohio and spent two balmy years in Greensboro, NC before re-relocating to the Midwest. I have a couple of composition degrees, and I worked extremely hard to earn them, but I wouldn’t for a moment consider myself an academic.
I’m simply an artist with a learned trade.
I took a cue from Charles Ives and landed a day job to support my otherwise debilitating and poverty-inducing habit of writing music. I’m a writer for a local publishing company, and I love it. In my spare time, I write music as voraciously and prolifically as possible.
If there is anything else you’d like to know about me or my work, such as the subject of my masters’ thesis or my best time in the 110M hurdles in high school, a Google search should yield sufficient information. (I'm the only Seth Colaner on the planet.) You can also just ask me anything you'd like to know—I’m the world’s leading expert on myself.
If you would like to perform any of my work, would like me to write something for you to perform, want to purchase a score or recording, or just want to say hello, don’t hesitate to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
